Application

Operating of regulating valves without auxiliary help (eg. TH-16, SAMSON, MERTIK, CLORIUS).
Proper only for valves with pressure equalized plate!

Installation

A flare nut connects the temperature sensor to the sensor manifold of the controlled enclosure and the control valve which acts as a regulating unit. Thread sizes of the flare nuts are manufactured as per the order in compliance with any of the sizes included in the table titled "non-fix sizes". The installation method varies according to whether the temperature sensor is connected to a regulating valve TH-16 or to a different type (i.e. MERTIK, SAMSON, CLORIUS or others)

Connection to valves TH-16

1. Connect the sensor tube (9) to the sensor manifod of the controlled enclosure with the flare nut (8)

2. Fix the spring tube (6) to the regulating valve with the flare nut.

3. Screw the adjustment knob (2) onto the head holding the dial in position so that the edge of the adjustment knob matches with the valve on the dial corresponding to the temperature of the controlled enclosure (the temperature measured during installation). This temperature reading is seen on the thermometer of the controlled enclosure. It is recommended that the thermometer should be positioned near the sensor manifold. The valve must then close and installation is now complete.

Connection to other valve types

1. Connect the sensor tube (9) to the sensor manifold of the controlled enclosure with the flare nut (8)

2. Fix the sprong tube (6) to the regulating valve with the flare nut (3). Unscrew the adjusting sleeve (11) from the transmitter housing (12)

3. Drive the checking tool into the adjusting sleeve (11) completely. The valve is now closed. Check to see whether the valve is completely closed (doeas not let steam flow through). If the valve leaks, the temperature controller cannot be expected to keep the temperature at the required level. Use a felt-tip pen to mark the end of the adjusting sleeve (11) on the checking tool.

4. Unscrew the checking tool completely.

5. Screw the adjustment knob (2) unto the head holding the dial in position so that the edge of the adjustment knob matches with the value on the dial corresponding to the temperature of the controlled enclosure (the temperature measured during installation). This temperature reading is seen on the thermometer of the controlled enclosure. It is reccomended that the thermometer should be positioned near the sensor manifold. The piston will slowly protrude from the transmitter housing while turning up the adjustment knob.

6. Measure the checking tool against the transmitter housing (12) as shown in the diagram. Screw the safety nut in line with the mark made with the felt-tip pen.

7. Screw the adjusting sleeve (11) onto the transmitter housing (12) up against the safety nut and tighten the safety nut to the adjusting sleeve. The valve must then close and installation is now complete.

8. If the adjsutment knob is unscrewed completely, the piston of the sensor tube becomes available for inspection. (it must protrude from the sleeve). Any failure in the sensor tube or the transmitter will cause the temperature to rise. The dial shows the nominal diameters of regulating valves to which the given sensor tube can be connected. The controlled temperature required can be adjusted by turning the knob with the help of dial.
Attention! You may at any time turn the adjustment knob to achieve higher temperatures. However, you must not set the sensor to lower temperatures unless the controlled enclosure has dropped.

9. The dial may be moved by ±5 mm which allows for minor corrections. Major corrections can only be made repositioning the adjusting sleeve after unscrewing the safety nut of the transmitter housing. Unscrewing and screwing will cause the controlled temperature to increase and decrease, respectively.

Warranty

Our product is fixed free of charge for 12 months from the date of purchase on condition that it was installed and used as described in here. As both the transmitter and the sensor tube can break down, the device must be used as a regulating device and not as a safety device.
